The Sindh Excise Department recently conducted a highly successful auction, generating a remarkable Rs675.4 million from the sale of 40 premium number plates. The auction’s highlight was plate number 1, which fetched an impressive Rs100 million. Other notable sales included plates numbered 5, 7, 8, and 9, sold for Rs53 million, Rs46 million, Rs41 million, and Rs40 million respectively.
Sharjeel Memon, Sindh’s Information Minister, announced that the proceeds from this auction will fund the construction of 2,251 homes for individuals affected by recent floods. This initiative underscores the government’s commitment to supporting those who lost their homes due to natural disasters.
These premium number plates offer unique features such as personalization options, transferability, and customization in various colors, making them highly coveted among buyers. Following the success of this auction, the Sindh Excise Department plans to organize a second auction soon, aimed at further bolstering efforts to aid flood victims and facilitate ongoing reconstruction initiatives.
