Sindh Auctions Most Expensive Number Plate ‘1’ for Rs. 10 Crore

Sindh recently made headlines with its inaugural auction of premium number plates, organized by the Excise and Taxation Department. The event drew a large and enthusiastic crowd eager to acquire distinctive registration plates.

The star attraction was the ‘A1’ number plate, which shattered records by fetching an astounding Rs100 million (10 crore rupees). This prestigious plate was secured by businessman Muzamal Kareem, underscoring the high stakes of the auction. Kareem also made waves by acquiring the number ‘7’ for Rs45 million (4.5 crore rupees).

Another notable transaction involved the ‘786’ number plate, purchased by businessman Sorosh for Rs26 million (2.6 crore rupees). Sindh Energy Minister Nasir Shah personally handed over the ownership certificate for this coveted plate to Sorosh, highlighting the event’s importance and prestige.

Government officials emphasized that these premium number plates represent more than just unique identifiers—they are seen as valuable investment assets. Winners of these plates may potentially profit from future resale opportunities, adding a financial dimension to their exclusivity.
