The L’Oréal Professionnel Institute of Pakistan (LPIP) recently marked a significant milestone with the graduation of its first and second batches, celebrated at a grand ceremony held at Karachi’s Marriott Hotel. This event was more than just a graduation; it symbolized empowerment and independence for women in Pakistan.
The esteemed Consul General of France in Karachi, Monsieur Alexis Chahtahtinsky, graced the occasion as the Guest of Honor, underscoring the international significance of the institute’s achievements.
In collaboration with CIRCLE, a women-led non-profit organization, LPIP identifies talented yet underprivileged women passionate about hairstyling. These women are provided with the necessary tools and skills not only to succeed but also to achieve financial independence.
The ceremony highlighted the pivotal role such initiatives play in Pakistan’s socio-economic landscape. Twenty-four talented hairstylists graduated, half of whom received full scholarships from L’Oréal Pakistan and CIRCLE, demonstrating the program’s effectiveness and commitment to inclusivity.
A panel discussion, moderated by Corporate Affairs & Engagement Director Adeela Liaquat, featured industry leaders like Sadaffe Abid, founder of CIRCLE, and renowned salon partners Hifsa Khan, Nina Lotia, and Sidra Gill. They discussed L’Oréal Pakistan’s steadfast commitment to empowering women and providing them with leadership opportunities in the hairstyling industry.
Keynotes by renowned stylist Nabila Maqsood and L’Oréal Pakistan’s Country Managing Director, Qawi Naseer, emphasized the institute’s role in fostering women’s economic independence. Mr. Naseer highlighted, “Through the L’Oréal Professionnel Institute of Pakistan, we aim to create a sustainable future that values diversity and promotes equality.”
Monsieur Alexis Chahtahtinsky praised the initiative for its significant impact on women’s economic empowerment and its broader implications for Pakistan’s economy.
The ceremony concluded with the distribution of diplomas to the graduating hairstylists, acknowledging their dedication and the program’s success.
LPIP offers a comprehensive six-month program that not only imparts hairstyling expertise but also cultivates business acumen and provides practical experience through internships. Graduates benefit from job placement opportunities within L’Oréal’s Salon Expert network, ensuring a seamless transition into successful careers.
In shaping the future of hairstyling in Pakistan, the L’Oréal Professionnel Institute of Pakistan is empowering women one graduate at a time, contributing to a more inclusive and prosperous society.
