Punjab to Launch Tourist Glass Train Between Rawalpindi and Murree

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and PML-N President Muhammad Nawaz Sharif recently convened for an extensive five-hour meeting, jointly overseeing key developments for Murree. Central to their discussions was the approval of the Murree development plan, highlighting a strategic roadmap for progress in the region.

Senior Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb presented an array of projects integral to the plan, encompassing development initiatives, beautification drives, transportation enhancements, construction efforts, and rehabilitation programs. The meeting yielded pivotal decisions aimed at revitalizing Murree’s landscape and preserving its rich historical heritage.

Foremost among the initiatives greenlit was the ambitious Rawalpindi-Murree tourist glass train project, set to enlist international consultancy for its execution. Addressing urban challenges, plans were unveiled to relocate towering hotel structures impeding Mall Road and restore original city names and historical building designations across Murree.

In a significant regulatory move, amendments to building laws were endorsed, transferring construction approval jurisdiction to the provincial government. This reform is poised to streamline development processes and ensure adherence to sustainable urban planning principles.

Moreover, the meeting heralded plans for a comprehensive drinking water supply system and infrastructure enhancements spanning Murree’s rural areas. These measures underscore the administration’s unwavering commitment to fostering tourism, modernizing infrastructure, and fostering balanced growth across the region.

In essence, the decisions taken during this pivotal session underscore a concerted effort to propel Murree towards a future marked by sustainable development, heightened tourist appeal, and enhanced civic amenities, thereby affirming its status as a cornerstone of Punjab’s cultural and economic landscape.
