PM Shehbaz Sharif Declares ‘Education Emergency’Across Pakistan

On Wednesday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif made a significant declaration, marking the inception of an education emergency nationwide. With a resolute aim to bring approximately 26 million out-of-school children into the educational fold, he seeks to elevate literacy rates, envisioning Pakistan as a beacon of erudition on the global stage.

Addressing a National Conference dedicated to the Education Emergency, the Prime Minister underscored his unwavering dedication to tackling the pervasive issue of educational disengagement among children. He pledged personal oversight, emphasizing the imperative for all provinces to unite beyond political divides in the pursuit of a brighter future for Pakistan.

Reflecting on the commendable initiatives undertaken during his tenure as Chief Minister of Punjab, PM Shehbaz highlighted transformative programs such as the Zevar Taleem Program, aimed at bolstering female enrollment in schools. He also shed light on endeavors to facilitate education for children laboring in brick kilns.

Furthermore, he alluded to the proactive measures of entrusting underperforming schools to alternate organizations for enhancement and the establishment of Daanish Schools, providing underprivileged children with not only quality education but also lodging, free of charge.
