Pakistan Railways has unveiled a significant 25% decrease in train fares for passengers traveling during the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha festivities. This reduction is applicable to all regular passenger trains operated by Pakistan Railways, with the exception of special Eid trains. The primary objective behind this initiative is to render train travel more affordable and accessible for families commemorating Eid-ul-Azha nationwide.
The discounted fares are exclusively for new bookings and remain valid throughout the three days of Eid-ul-Azha. A spokesperson for Pakistan Railways has expressed contentment with this fare reduction, highlighting its pivotal role in fulfilling the organization’s commitment to serving the people of Pakistan. It is anticipated that this reduction will enrich the Eid celebrations for passengers by offering them more convenient and economical travel alternatives.
Earlier, on May 21, Pakistan Railways had already implemented fare reductions across various train classes in response to decreased diesel prices. This measure promptly benefited passengers traveling shorter distances, with significant savings particularly observed in economy and AC classes.
This proactive approach by Pakistan Railways reflects a commitment to enhancing the travel experience for passengers while also aligning with broader economic considerations.
