Pakistan Marine Academy Announces Job vacancies in Pakistan

The Pakistan Marine Academy invites applications for the 63rd batch of Nautical (Deck) and Marine Engineering Cadets for the session 2025-2026. This esteemed opportunity is open to young, unmarried male citizens of Pakistan who aspire to join the merchant navy.

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Citizenship: Must be an unmarried male citizen of Pakistan.
  2. Age Limit: Maximum 20 years as of December 31, 2024. Candidates from FATA, Gilgit-Baltistan, AJK, and Balochistan have a maximum age limit of 21 years.
  3. Academic Qualifications:
    • Completed F.Sc Pre-Engineering or A Level with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, achieving at least 55% marks.
    • O/A Level candidates require an Equivalence Certificate.
    • Current F.Sc/A Level Part-II students with at least 60% marks in Part-I can apply with a Hope Certificate.

How to Apply

  • Obtain the prospectus and application form from the PMA website or Admission Office.
  • Submit completed forms via courier with a pay order or bank draft of Rs. 3,500/- favoring Pakistan Marine Academy, Karachi.
  • Self Finance Scheme applicants must include an additional Rs. 300,000/-.
  • SFS fee refundable if selected on open merit or failing to meet PMA criteria.

Selection Procedure

  1. Entrance Test: Minimum 50% marks required, conducted in multiple cities.
  2. Medical Examination: Conducted at designated Army/Navy hospitals.
  3. Final Selection: Based on academic marks, entrance test scores, medical results, Physical Efficiency Test (PET), and final interview.

Physical Efficiency Test (PET) Standards

  • Running: 1.6 km in 8 minutes.
  • Push-ups: 15 repetitions in 2 minutes.
  • Sit-ups: 15 repetitions in 2 minutes.
  • Chin-ups: 2 repetitions in 2 minutes.

Education and Training

  • Two-year residential training at PMA leading to an Associate Degree in Nautical Science and Marine Engineering by NED University of Engineering & Technology, Karachi.
  • Includes International Maritime Organization (IMO) recognized Pre-Sea Mandatory Courses.

Scholarships

  • Ministry of Maritime Affairs offers 33 need-based scholarships across various provinces.

Ineligibility Criteria

  • Ineligible if found to have tampered academic documents, concealed information, poor disciplinary record, or medical unfitness.
