In the first ten months of FY 2023-24, Pakistan’s IT services exports amounted to $2.593 billion, marking a notable 20.41% increase compared to the $2.135 billion earned in the corresponding period the previous year, as reported by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics.
The export growth was driven by robust performances across several categories. Computer services exports surged by 24.55%, reaching $2.153 billion, up from $1.729 billion previously. Software consultancy exports increased by 10.80%, while hardware consultancy exports saw a rise of 19.24%.
The information services sector experienced remarkable growth, with exports soaring by 105.90%. Notably, news agency services led this expansion with a staggering 167.58% increase.
In the realm of telecommunication services exports, there was an overall rise of 7.04%. Call center services stood out with a significant increase of 17.59%, although other telecom services witnessed a slight decline of 1.56%.
These statistics underscore the expanding influence of Pakistan’s IT sector in global markets. The substantial growth across various IT service segments reflects the sector’s resilience and its potential to contribute significantly to the country’s economic development.
