Man Cuts off Donkey’s Ears in Rawalpindi

In a troubling recurrence of animal cruelty incidents within the country, another shocking case has emerged, this time in a village within Rawalpindi district. A donkey belonging to Tanveer Hussain, a local farmer from Dhakala Dakkhana, Saagri, fell victim to a brutal act: its ears were maliciously severed. The incident, which occurred on June 4th, has sparked widespread outrage and concern among villagers.

Hussain, devastated by the mutilation of his donkey, took immediate action. He spoke with local residents who pointed towards Arshad Mehmood, a relative, as the likely perpetrator, although fear prevented direct accusation. Determined to seek justice, Hussain conducted his own inquiries, gathering evidence which he promptly handed over to the authorities.

Despite the incident taking place two weeks prior, the formal report was only recently filed at the Rawat Police Station. Station House Officer Chaudary Zulfiqar confirmed that while no arrests have been made, the investigation remains active. Authorities are exploring multiple angles, including whether the attack was linked to longstanding disputes over land or personal grievances.

This incident follows another recent case of animal abuse, underscoring a disturbing trend within the community. The atmosphere in the village is palpably tense, with concerns lingering over safety and the welfare of animals. Hussain’s persistent efforts to secure justice and the ongoing police investigation reflect the community’s collective desire for resolution and peace.

As the investigation continues, villagers remain on edge, hoping for swift action and accountability for the egregious harm inflicted upon the innocent donkey.
