The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has recently unveiled ambitious plans to construct a Holy Quran Palace in Peshawar, marking a significant step towards preserving and safeguarding ancient copies of the Holy Quran. This initiative was announced during a meeting of the Auqaf and Religious Affairs department in Peshawar, where Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur emphasized the importance of creating a dedicated facility for the storage and protection of these invaluable religious texts.
In a directive to the Peshawar Development Authority, Chief Minister Gandapur instructed the identification and allocation of suitable land for the Holy Quran Palace. This project aims to house and maintain rare and historic editions of the Holy Quran, ensuring their availability for future generations and attracting scholars, researchers, and devotees alike.
Furthermore, as part of its comprehensive urban planning efforts, the government also plans to establish a government graveyard in Peshawar. This initiative addresses the pressing need for burial space in the city, ensuring dignified final resting places for its residents.
These developments underscore the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government’s commitment to preserving cultural heritage while simultaneously meeting the practical needs of its population. The Holy Quran Palace and the new government graveyard are poised to become prominent landmarks, enhancing Peshawar’s cultural and religious significance and reflecting the region’s rich history and dedication to public service.
