foodpanda Extends Support to Gaza through World Food Programme  

foodpanda, the leading delivery platform in Pakistan, has joined hands with the World Food Programme (WFP) to extend crucial assistance to the people of Gaza amidst the ongoing conflict in Palestine. Thousands of families in Gaza are grappling with food insecurity and a lack of access to basic necessities due to the dire humanitarian crisis. In response to this urgent situation, foodpanda has taken proactive steps to support the relief efforts led by WFP in Gaza.

Through its ongoing program, foodpanda has facilitated customer donations via its app and pledged to match all funds raised. Additionally, foodpanda has forged a partnership with Islamabad United, a prominent cricket franchise in the PSL, to contribute further funds towards Gaza. The combined donation from foodpanda equates to over 200,000 meals, which will be utilized by WFP to provide essential supplies, food provisions, humanitarian aid, and support services to vulnerable communities in Gaza. This initiative underscores foodpanda’s commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of individuals and communities in need.

Muntaqa Peracha, Managing Director of foodpanda in Pakistan, expressed solidarity with the people of Palestine, emphasizing the company’s obligation as a socially conscious entity to support them during these challenging times. He stated that through the partnership with WFP, foodpanda aims to offer vital assistance to Palestinian families in the best way possible.

Ms. Coco Ushiyama, Country Director for WFP Pakistan, commended foodpanda’s efforts, highlighting the critical role of such contributions in WFP’s ongoing efforts to provide food aid in Gaza despite significant challenges. She stated that foodpanda’s generous donation will make a substantial difference and enable WFP to deliver life-saving aid to approximately 6,863 people daily for a month.

This initiative is in line with foodpanda’s overarching mission to leverage its platform and resources to drive positive change and contribute to building a more resilient and equitable world. The company remains steadfast in its dedication to utilizing its reach and influence for meaningful social impact and stands in solidarity with the Palestinian people.
