China Wins First Gold Medal at Paris Olympics

In a stunning display of talent, China’s Huang Yuting and Sheng Lihao clinched the first gold medal of the 2024 Paris Olympics. The duo triumphed in the mixed team 10m air rifle event, defeating South Korea’s Keum Ji-hyeon and Park Ha-jun with a score of 16-12. This impressive victory sets a high bar for the rest of the Games and underscores China’s strong start.

At just 17 and 19 years old, Huang and Sheng have already established themselves as formidable competitors, with notable achievements at the Asian Games and World Championships. Their Olympic gold medal further cements their status as rising stars in the sport.

In the same event, Kazakhstan’s Alexandra Le and Islam Satpayev secured the bronze medal, overcoming Germany’s Anna Janssen and Maximilian Ulbrich with a score of 17-5. This bronze medal marks the first of the Games.
