Indian cricket stalwart Ravindra Jadeja has announced his retirement from T20 Internationals following India’s triumphant victory in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, where they clinched the title by defeating South Africa in a thrilling final on Saturday. Taking to Instagram, Jadeja expressed his heartfelt gratitude and bid farewell to the T20I format.
“With a heart full of gratitude, I am bidding farewell to T20 internationals. Like a dedicated horse running proudly, I have always given my best for my country and will continue to do so in other formats,” he shared.
Reflecting on the pinnacle of his T20I career, the World Cup win, Jadeja thanked his supporters and signed off with a patriotic “Jai Hind.”
Jadeja made his debut in T20 Internationals against Sri Lanka in 2009 and has since played 74 matches, contributing significantly with both bat and ball. He leaves behind a legacy that includes 515 runs and 54 wickets in T20Is, showcasing his all-round prowess and unwavering commitment to the Indian cricket team.
While stepping away from T20Is, Jadeja reassured his fans of his continued dedication to representing India in other formats, ensuring that his journey in international cricket continues with renewed zeal and passion.
