Airline Ticket Prices to Increase Massively as Govt Imposed Excise Duty up to Rs. 350,000

Starting July 1, as part of the approved fiscal year 2024-25 budget, the federal government has implemented increased excise duties on business and club class air tickets for various international destinations:

  1. USA, North America, Latin America, Canada:
    • Previous Duty: Rs 250,000
    • New Duty: Rs 350,000
    • Increase: Rs 100,000
  2. European Destinations:
    • Previous Duty: Rs 150,000
    • New Duty: Rs 210,000
    • Increase: Rs 60,000
  3. New Zealand, Australia, China, Malaysia, Indonesia:
    • Previous Duty: Rs 150,000
    • New Duty: Rs 210,000
    • Increase: Rs 60,000
  4. Saudi Arabia, UAE, Middle East, African Nations:
    • Previous Duty: Rs 75,000
    • New Duty: Rs 105,000
    • Increase: Rs 30,000

These adjustments reflect significant increases in excise duties aimed at generating additional revenue from international air travel sectors.
