Sanghar Camel to ‘Stand Up’ for First Time

Cammie, the camel from Sanghar, endured a brutal act of cruelty when her leg was mercilessly severed by a landlord. This tragic incident left her unable to stand, but now, after dedicated efforts, she is poised to rise again.

Following the attack, Cammie was relocated to CDRS Benji, an animal welfare NGO in Karachi, where she has received exceptional care and rehabilitation. Bioniks Pakistan, a prosthetics company, crafted a specialized support structure with a harness, enabling Cammie to regain her footing. The collaboration between the NGO, Bioniks Pakistan, and the Department of Livestock has been instrumental in her remarkable progress.

The perpetrators of this heinous crime, six individuals, are currently in custody awaiting trial as authorities work diligently to ensure justice for Cammie.

Cammie’s plight has deeply resonated with people, sparking a wave of empathy and support for her recovery. Her journey to stand once more serves as a powerful symbol of resilience and the collective commitment to animal welfare and justice.
