On July 16, 2024, the federal government announced a significant rise in fuel prices across Pakistan. Effective immediately, the price of petrol has surged by Rs9.99 per litre, reaching Rs275.60. Simultaneously, the cost of high-speed diesel (HSD) has increased by Rs6.18 per litre, now priced at Rs283.63.
The Finance Division has confirmed these adjustments, attributing them to the government’s ongoing efforts to synchronize domestic fuel prices with international market rates and manage economic pressures.
As a consequence, transportation costs are expected to escalate, potentially leading to increased prices for goods and services nationwide. Consumers are advised to prepare accordingly, given that these revised rates are set to endure for the foreseeable future.
This development underscores the necessity for individuals to remain well-informed about economic policies and their implications for everyday life.
