NLC & Uzbekistan Railways Signed MoU to Enhance Trade, Transport & Logistics

The National Logistics Corporation (NLC) and Uzbekistan Railways Joint Stock Company (JSC “O’zbekiston temir yo’llari”) have formalized a strategic partnership aimed at enhancing transport, logistics, and transit trade activities between Pakistan and Uzbekistan.

In a significant move, the NLC, represented by Maj Gen Farrukh Shahzad Rao, Director General, and JSC “O’zbekiston temir yo’llari,” represented by Mr. Rakhmetov Khikmatulla Narzullayevich, First Deputy Chairman of the Board, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Tashkent, Uzbekistan’s capital. The MoU outlines a comprehensive framework for collaboration, focusing on expanding multimodal logistics capabilities and fostering end-to-end solutions.

Key initiatives under the agreement include boosting freight transportation volumes between the two nations, enhancing logistics infrastructure such as warehouses and transit terminals, and jointly developing new logistics facilities. These efforts aim to facilitate smoother trade routes and increase efficiency for businesses in Pakistan, Uzbekistan, and neighboring countries.

Maj Gen Farrukh Shahzad Rao highlighted NLC’s commitment to enhancing regional connectivity, particularly emphasizing land-based transportation links with Central Asian Republics and neighboring regions. He emphasized the MoU’s potential to strengthen economic ties and stimulate trade relations across the region.

Mr. Rakhmetov Khikmatulla Narzullayevich expressed optimism regarding the partnership with NLC, underscoring its potential to deliver faster, more cost-effective logistics solutions. He emphasized the mutual benefits for traders and businesses in both countries, anticipating substantial improvements in the logistics landscape between Pakistan and Uzbekistan.

Overall, the MoU signifies a pivotal step towards fostering deeper economic integration and logistical cooperation between Pakistan and Uzbekistan, aiming to leverage their strategic geographical positions to enhance regional trade dynamics.
