11 Packaged Snacks, Including Slanty and Potato Sticks, Found ‘Unfit’ for Human Consumption

The Sindh Food Authority (SFA) has taken decisive action against a private company, instructing the recall of 11 snack products due to failing safety tests conducted by the University of Karachi’s food testing lab.

The affected products include:

  • Slanty Vegetable
  • Snackers Hot Masala
  • Snackers Pizza
  • Twitch Classic
  • Potato Sticks
  • Cheese Ball Masala
  • Cheese Balls Cheese
  • Kai Korean Hot
  • Kai Spicy Mala
  • Kai Mala Wok
  • Kai Korean Kimchi

These items must be removed from shelves within three days, as mandated by the SFA. Failure to comply may result in legal repercussions for the company.

The SFA’s decision follows the company’s submission of 24 snack products for registration, of which half did not meet required safety and quality standards. Highlighting health risks to consumers, the SFA has invoked the Sindh Food Authority Act to enforce this recall.

This measure underscores the SFA’s commitment to ensuring market-wide compliance with stringent food safety and quality norms. It serves as a stern reminder to all food companies regarding the repercussions of non-compliance with these regulations.

Consumers are urged to verify if they possess any of these products and refrain from their consumption to avoid potential health hazards.

By upholding rigorous testing and adherence to food safety protocols, the SFA aims to safeguard public health and uphold confidence in the quality of available food products.
